Tips to Enjoy Your Fire Pit in the Winter

Tips to Enjoy Your Fire Pit in the Winter

If you live in an area where you can still be outside with your fire pit, we've got a few tips to help you enjoy your space throughout the winter.

  1. Remove any debris (leaves, dirt, snow) from the burner. Your fire pit won't light if debris is in the way, so cleaning it out and making sure everything is clear is very important.
  2. Move your fire pit to your deck or patio. A lot of The Outdoor GreatRoom Company fire pits are mobile and can be used all over your backyard, which is great in the summer. But during winter, you might be looking for a bit more protection from Mother Nature. However, do not use a fire pit in an area with a roof.
  3. Make sure your backyard area with your fire pit is equipped to keep people warm. Providing blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags will encourage people to sit around the fire longer. A couple of additional patio heaters are also a great way to add warmth.
  4. A bonus of a gas fire pit versus a wood-burning fire is the flame is warmer when using propane. You also don't need to deal with constantly feeding a fire with wood or having to keep wood dry from the elements.
  5. Once you've got your fire pit ready, hosting a smores night is a great way to enjoy your fire pit in the winter. Setting up a smores or hot cocoa bar is a fun way to add a festive touch to your backyard.

And if you unfortunately live in a place where you can no longer use your fire pit, we've got tips on how you can put it away and store it for next spring.
