Delivery
Inspection Requirements at time of delivery:

  • Inspect your shipment upon delivery before signing the delivery receipt.
  • Carefully inspect any product visible through packaging or crates. Remove or lift any boxes, protective covers, or paper liners to verify the product is free from damage.
  • Document all visible damage on the Bill of Lading (BOL)/delivery receipt before signing: ** Refused due to shipping damage**
  • Take Photos. All damage claims require both a damage notation on the BOL and photos of the damaged packaging and damaged product.
  • Do not accept shipments with visible damage unless the damage is clearly noted on the BOL.
If damage is significant, refuse the shipment.
  • If multiple pallets are delivered, refuse just the damaged pallet and notate the number of pieces on the refused pallet.
  • Failure to notate damage on the BOL or refuse visibly damaged goods may result in the receiver being responsible for replacement costs.
  • Any concealed damage or missing parts must be reported within 3 business days of delivery.

Important:

Signing
the delivery receipt confirms the shipment was received in acceptable condition unless damage is specifically noted at the time of delivery. Taking a few minutes to inspect your shipment can help ensure a smooth and timely resolution if freight damage is discovered.
