The Outdoor GreatRoom Company kicked off their season of giving November 9 with a volunteer event packing healthy meal boxes, called MATTERboxes. This event was to support Matter, an organization whose goal it is to provide access to health locally, nationally, and internationally. A part of that goal is providing healthy, balanced meals to families in need.
This engaging event included all Outdoor GreatRoom Company employees split into teams. The levels of teamwork and company morale were both boosted by turning this event into a fun and interactive experience for everyone involved. 160 meal boxes were packed in a span of two hours and each box will feed a family of four in the Twin Cities community, providing 640 total meals.
The company's charitable giving committee, Outdoor GreatRoom Cares, also hosted a Thanksgiving meal drive providing 394 lbs of food, which came to equal 15 Thanksgiving meals for local Dakota County residents. During the Christmas season, the company adopts a local family to provide gifts and resources to give them peace of mind and joy.
