Top 5 Outdoor Trends for 2026

We chatted with our sales reps and dealers and scoured the internet to procure a list of the definitive Top 5 Outdoor Living Trends of 2026. No fluff, no filler โ€” just the trends you need to know to make the most of your outdoor space this year.

1. Indoor-Outdoor Continuity

Indoor-Outdoor continuity is the idea that a homeowners' outdoor space should reflect the same vibes and style as their indoor space versus the two spaces sharing distinctly different aesthetics. Examples of this include having lots of wood and earthy tones inside and instead of the outside then being stone and bright colors, it's likely that same wood and earthy tone feel.

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company has had this trend top-of-mind for quite some time and you can see it reflected in the design of our fire pits and fire pit tables. We often take inspiration from indoor trends and bring those ideas to the outdoor space. One of our newest collections, Reverie, is a perfect example of this as its scalloped aluminum base was inspired by the trend of scalloped tables rising in popularity in indoor spaces.

Other fire pits and fire pit tables across our offering are considerate of indoor spaces too with our Supercast Concrete featuring a wide variety of colors and textures to more easily create cohesion with indoor spaces. Stone fireplace indoors? Consider a Bronson Fire Pit for your outdoor space. Natural industrial or concrete look indoors? Consider a fire pit from our Cove Collection or an Uptown to create that cohesive indoor-outdoor space.

2. Colors & Textures Inspired by Nature

The next trend has to do with colors and textures. Over the last few years, many homeowners have desired a feeling of being in nature and of outdoor spaces that embrace their surroundings.

While your first thought may be this means brown tones and other "earthy" colors are the must-have colors, that's not necessarily the case, though for some it could be! Not everyone is surrounded by woods or water. For some it could be the deserts of the southwest or the sandy shores of the coastline. No matter where people live, they're seeking colors and textures that are inspired by the landscapes around them.

Our Havenwood Collection is a perfect example of how different landscapes inspire different spaces and furniture. In Coastal areas, we see a lot of people prefer the Havenwood's white base and Driftwood top - a combination that feels seamless with sandy beaches and palm trees.

Then on the flip side, we see black bases and grey tops more popular in northern areas and mountainous regions like the Rockies as those colors fit that landscape far better than a white and tan combination. Same table, same materials, but different colors and textures to fit their areas!

3. Durable & Low-Maintenance Furniture

Sustainability is no longer a silly buzzword, it's a core piece of people's beliefs and desires when purchasing furniture for their outdoor spaces. In a time where everything is go-go-go, we've found people look to their outdoor spaces as a place to relax and unwind and with limited time to enjoy that space, people don't want to spend that valuable time cleaning and maintaining their outdoor furniture.ย

As a result, many are turning to furniture and decor that are not only functional, but that are easy to maintain and last a long time. It's why materials like poly wood, aluminum and stainless steel are so prominent in popular outdoor furniture.

This is a trend we've really heard loudly and clearly, especially from our trade partners and customers in coastal areas who will sometimes refuse to listen in on products if they're not made from aluminum - one of the few materials able to withstand coastal sea spray and air.ย

That's why we've really shifted focus and have made it priority to design all our new fire tables with aluminum bases instead of metal or other materials. Additionally other materials like our Supercast Concrete and poly wood have been popular choices for customers who want fire pits and fire pit tables that not only look great, but staying looking great through whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

All Outdoor GreatRoom fire pits and fire pit tables also feature our stainless steel Crystal Fire Plus burners, which stand up to rust, scratches and other damage that can come from repeated usage outdoors.

4. Multifunctionality

This is the "newest" trend on our list and one that has really come on over the last year or two. As remote work has become more popular and as homeowners look to invest more in their outdoor spaces, they have a strong desire for that space to be multifunctional.

One day a homeowner may want a seating space to be for a laptop and morning cup of coffee and then later that same day, they want that same space to be able to host a group of friends.ย This trend has driven sales for furniture such as modular sofas and chairs as well as tables that can serve multiple purpose (fire, dining, serving, etc.)

Multifunctionality is one of the core features of Outdoor GreatRoom fire tables. Most, not all, of our tables come with a glass or Supercast burner cover that allows your fire table to be converted to a dining table, side table, decorative table, or any other kind of table when it's not burning!

5. Minimalism is the Style of Choice

Minimalism, as it pertains to outdoor furniture,ย is pretty self-explanatory incorporating simple, common shapes and a neutral color palette and plain accents.

It's a bit more of a niche trend, but it's a style that's dominating a lot of new releases of furniture. It ties in somewhat with the natural colors and textures as it doesn't draw too much attention away from the natural elements and feel of the space.

Popular Outdoor GreatRoom Company fire tables that incorporate the minimalist style include our Relic Grey Cirvalo, Stonefire Collection, Cove Collection and Havenwood Collection.
