Setting Up Your Showroom for Success

Setting Up Your Showroom for Success

Showrooms can come in all different shapes and sizes and varieties, but the strategies you use to set them up in the best way possible actually have a lot of similarities! This blog will go through a handful of tips and best practices courtesy of our team at The Outdoor GreatRoom Company!

Create the Scene Using Vignettes

One of the best ways to display your fire pits in your showroom is creating a vignette. In this case, a vignette is an assortment of several outdoor furniture pieces and accessories arranged in a way that mimics a real outdoor space. This helps consumers better visualize how everything fits into their space, which is important because according to research conducted by 3D Cloud, nearly half of consumers find it hard to visualize how furniture will fit in their space.

Creating a vignette allows the consumer to not only fully visualize their space, but can also help with upselling. The consumer may be more inclined to purchase the entire furniture set, fire pit table and accessories if they're all displayed together versus separately.

The display below is from Dan's Porch & Patio in Fort Wayne, IN. They've put our Alcott Fire Table in this vignette, but notice how they create an entire outdoor scene using a piece of white fence, trees, side tables, seating, a rug and even wall decor to really help their consumers visualize how all these pieces come together to form a cohesive outdoor space.

Show Options

Whether it's fabric colors, top or base fire table variants, materials and everything in between, do your best to give your consumer options!

While Vignettes are great, they can be a bit limiting in that they typically only help a consumer one style or aesthetic. Showing fire tables with multiple options can help consumers see a style that may fit their needs. Take this example below that shows our Edison Fire Table displayed alongside a few different styles of furniture.

Use Fire Media & Materials to Create Sets

OGC doesn't manufacture our own outdoor furniture, but our products are strategically designed with common materials and colors that allow them to seamlessly blend into a variety of furniture styles. Here a few examples:

In this example, our dealer paired our Kenwood fire table with recycled poly chairs of the same color to create a uniform look. This can help with upselling and allows the customer visualize what a dining evening with friends could look like!

Here are a few examples where the dealer changed up the color of fire media of a Natural Grey Cove Bowl and Natural Grey Cove 54" Linear Fire Pit to tie those fire pits to the vibrant blue furniture.

Also notice that these examples show different types of furniture that can be displayed alongside concrete - it doesn't always have to be the same pairings for the same materials.

Speaking of materials, here's one more example that shows our teak Darien Fire Table paired up perfectly with teak seating. Again, not designed by the same manufacturer, but you wouldn't know by looking at it!

Utilize Your Space Efficiently

Finally, we understand that not all showrooms are created equally and that some may have significantly less space than others. While those in smaller spaces maybe can't create full scale vignettes and displays, they can still neatly organize their showrooms to maximize space.

One way to do this is by grouping fire pit displays close together as shown below. Notice this dealer puts an emphasis on using point of purchase (PoP) marketing materials to help support the product. Those PoP materials often have lots of information and photos to help the consumer learn more about the product an visualize in their space. The Wall Poster also helps consumers more easily spot The Outdoor GreatRoom Company's brand and where to go to view our tables.

Another way to reduce clutter while also showing off lots of displays is to consider elevating the back row of displays. This allows consumer to look at many options at once, while still maintaining an orderly look. The two pictures below provide excellent examples of maximizing space using elevation.
