Out of the way, Millennial Grey, there's a new color, errr colors, in town: Earth Tones!
As we noted in our recap blog from Casual Market, earth tone colors are taking the consumer product market by storm. From furniture, to clothing, to wedding colors and everything in between, this family of colors dominated in 2025 and is projected to remain popular moving forward.
In this blog, we'll explain what earth tones are, why they've seen a recent spike in popularity and how OGC is taking this trend head on with our new gas fire pit tables and collections!
What are Earth Tones?
Earth tones are a family of colors that are inspired by the natural elements of earth.
- Browns: Most all browns qualify as earth tones, but shades in chocolate, mocha, tan, beige and taupe are the most common as they reflect common earthly resources like soil and wood.
- Greens: Green earth tones includes shades reminiscent of plants and foliage like deep forest greens, olive, moss and sage.
- Reds and Oranges: Muted shades of these popular colors like terracotta, rust and burgundy reflect things like clay, rusted metal, dried berries and autumn leaves.
- Yellow: Bright yellows like lemon or sunflower isn't included here, but more brownish yellows like ochre and mustard fit perfectly into the earth tone color palette.
- Warm Greys: Unlike Millennial Grey that have cool lavender or blue undertones, earth tone warm greys feature undertones of green and brown resembling stone, taupe and driftwood.

Earth Tones Rise to Popularity
Over the last 4-5 years, many people have had the opportunity to spend more time at home and in their outdoor spaces, especially during the pandemic when most activities people could participate in were outdoors.
Many folks found some peace in comfort in those spaces and looked to carry those feelings into their every day lives. The best way to do that was to bring earth tone colors with them into every aspect of life, primarily in consumer products like clothes, furniture, accessories and more as they naturally bring a sense of warmth, comfort and wellness.
For others, earth tones may be a go-to due to their nod toward sustainability and eco-consciousness. Because earth tones feature colors found in the natural world, companies brand natural, eco-friendly products with these colors to fully embrace their purpose and mission.
Outdoor GreatRoom Staying On-Trend
One of the core philosophies of The Outdoor GreatRoom Company is our dedication to creating fire pits and fire pit tables that are on trend and we've fully embraced earth tones! While these colors have been a part of our legacy product mix including fire tables like the Stonefire Brown Fire Table, Brooks (Taupe) Fire Table Collection, Beacon Marbleized Noche Fire Table, and others, we've made a pointed effort to expand our products featuring earth tones with our new launches.
Over the last year and half we've introduced the Cirvalo Collection and Reverie Collection, both of which feature brown bases and tops as well as other earth tone colors like driftwood and some of the warmer greys.
We're also in the process of rolling out additional colors and styles for our popular Cove Collection of fire pits and fire bowls that will include options in Earth Stone, Latte and Linen, three colors that perfectly encapsulate earth tones.

If you're feeling inspired to upgrade your outdoor space by making it cozier with earth tones, consider making an Outdoor GreatRoom fire table the heart of that space! Purchase a fire table between now and December 5th, 2025 and save up to $500!
